The Knifemakers' Guild Show 2013
Earlier this year I was commissioned to make a "very special knife" for an Afghanistan Vet. His name is Tripp.
He is Special Forces, Green Beret, Airborne, with more decorations and awards than I could list here. Needless to say he is an American Warrior, Hero and just one outstanding Gentleman.
The knife I made is called the "American Warrior" and is a one of a kind with an 8 inch blade of CPM154 stainless steel, 304 stainless steel fittings and ancient Ivory handle.
The beautiful scrimshaw was done by Linda Stone. Just the right amount of "dressing" on the handle for the knife to judged and awarded "Best Dressed Fighter 2013" at this year's Knifemakers Guild Show.
Tripp was unaware of the knife having been made for him, until he walked by my display table at the Guild Show. He picked the knife up and saw his picture on the handle and the rest as they say is history.
Thank you Tripp for your service to our country. And thank you Martin for letting me be a part of making this knife for an American Hero.
