The 2010 Knifemakers' Guild Show has come and gone. But I wanted to let you know something that happened for me that was very special. I got to say Thank You, in a small way, to our Men and Women in Uniform for all they have done and continue to do each and everyday to keep us all safe, secure and most of all Free in this great country.
I contacted the Guild President , Gil Hibben about a month before the show and ask if I could donate a knife for a military member at the Show. My plan was to present the knife to the first active duty military that showed up in uniform at the show.
Saturday morning, September 18th, our first Military Member walked into the show, in uniform with his Mother and Grandmother. His name is PFC Brown and he had just finished Basic Training. It was my great honor to give PFC Brown the Prototype of The Luckett Tac II Dagger. I know that I can never say thank you enough to all the brave Men and Women in our Military, but I wanted to do something and this was just my small part.
There was a small presentation at the show and PFC Brown and his family got a very warm round of applause from all those who were attending the show.
Again ….Thanks to PFC Brown and all those who protect us today.
Bill Luckett
